Château Angélus 2025

Saint-Émilion, Premier Grand Cru Classé A

The 2025 en primeur campaign is now closed.

The Wine

Château Angélus — named for the three chapels that surround it, whose bell appears on its label — is one of Bordeaux's flagship Right Bank estates, classified Premier Grand Cru Classé A in Saint-Émilion. Made predominantly from Merlot with a significant proportion of Cabernet Franc, Angélus is known for opulent, richly textured wines with floral perfume (often violet and rose), concentrated red and black fruit, plush tannins and a fine structural backbone. The 2025 vintage is praised by James Suckling as a “possible perfect vintage”. I admire Angélus for its rare combination of elegance, concentration and structure.
